Job Summary: Manages Transportation, Facilities and Safety for Friends of Children and Families, Inc. (FOCAF) Head Start and Early Head Start.
Essential Functions: • Assists with interviewing and hiring of bus driving staff.
• Develops policies and procedures that are in compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and agency, federal, state and local laws. Ensures that policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and needed revisions are made.
• Directly supervises Maintenance Technician.
• Ensures the safety of the company vehicles and bus fleet by coordinating and monitoring preventive and regular maintenance and repairs.
• Submits fiscal requests, monitors annual budget and expenditures.
• Monitors all transportation documentation and observations of the bus drivers to ensure compliance and safety.
• Monitors the bus routes ensuring that bus loading zones are safe.
• Responsible for administering the transportation application system.
• Plans and facilitates regular in-service meetings and training for transportation staff.
• Coordinates transportation requests and supports staff in arranging bus services for children and updates bus routes as needed.
• Coordinates with the Associate Director of Operations on bus route closures due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions.
• Responsible for ensuring FOCAF facilities receive consistent maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Manages and monitors all facilities and maintenance contracts.
Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Health, Safety, Transportation, Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Two years’ experience in transportation, facilities maintenance, safety or related field; and
• Two years’ supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Must pass a physical screening and TB test.
• Must pass a criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and FOCAF Head Start standards.
• Must pass a drug test and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
